Daniel and I were both raised in Texas (Daniel in Katy and I was all over the Dallas area) and met the first week of my freshman year of college at SMU... Daniel was the cute 3rd floor RA in Boaz Hall! We instantly became best friends and were college sweethearts. We married on June 10, 2006.
We spent the first two years of marriage in Durham, NC while Daniel was in Divinity School at Duke University. I taught 8th grade English in Durham Public Schools and learned a lot about myself, poverty and education.
In 2008 we moved to Houston where Daniel became a pastor at a local Methodist church. He has grown the contemporary service over the past few years and we feel very blessed to serve and worship at our church.
I taught in Katy ISD for two years - 8th grade English and 6-8th grade Teen Leadership. In that time, after many months passed of trying to get pregnant, I found out I was having twin girls! Emma and Claire were born in July 2010. They are our greatest joy. I stayed home with them for the first 18 months and then went to work part-time at our church as the Director of Women's Ministry in January of 2012. Daniel and I love working with one another and the girls LOVE attending school on Mondays and Tuesdays! It's the perfect balance of working and being home with the twins.
We can't forget our sweet puppy, Boaz. He's a lab-mix and a great dog. He will always be our firstborn!
